Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4 1954. She is a comedian from Canada as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara is the proud winner of numerous prizes, including the Genie Award. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara made her debut as an actress in 1974 when she was part of The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also in her main ensemble in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara began working with Candy on Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara was acknowledged for her stand-up comedy and writing abilities, and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award of Outstanding Writing for Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the new Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
